5 Tips to Maintain the Cleanliness of the Glass

Most modern offices use glass walls to make walls and sections for their employees. They are very attractive and sophisticated. However, they may lose their shine and glare when they get dirt and dust. That’s why they should be cleaned regularly.

Glasses are pretty easy and simple to clean and maintain. However, you have to use some techniques. Otherwise, you may damage the shine of your glass walls. That’s why here are some tips for cleaning the glass:

1.   Use Prepping Cleaning Tools

You have to collect the right tools for cleaning glasses, including the following:

  • Microfiber cloth or duster is used to wipe dust particles and debris from the glasses.
  • Squeegee for removing the water and residue of the solution.
  • A high-quality glass cleaner. You can buy or make it at home.

You can make the solution at home by mixing the water with vinegar and adding a few drops of lemon. You can use this in the spray bottle.

2.   Do a Streakless Cleaning

During cleaning, you have to apply the spray in small quantities. Then, wipe the grease or grim from the glass gently with the microfiber or wiper. Ensure that the wiper doesn’t scratch the glass. Moreover, small quantities of the solution should be used and squeezed immediately.

Moreover, you should clean from top to bottom and use a microfiber towel to remove all the spots from the surface.

3.   Avoid the Following Things

There are several mistakes people commit while cleaning the glasses. Even if these are minor mistakes, they can have a huge impact on the elegance of the glasses. So, here are some of these:

  • Don’t clean in the Sunlight
  • Don’t use newspaper, paper towels, rags
  • Don’t delay cleaning after the solution is applied
  • Avoid adhesives for your glass walls
  • Don’t use ammonia-based cleaners. These can degrade the glasses in the long run.
  • Never use harsh chemicals, such as bleach and chlorine.
  • Avoid using abrasive tools such as dish sponges, steel wool, etc.

4.   Test the Glass Walls Regularly

Glass testing is vital to maintain durability. Several glass tests can estimate the strength of the glass to withstand the shocks. Here are some of these tests:

  • Design and visual tests
  • Annealing assessments
  • Glass thickness and weight tests

There are sales tools for glass testing on different platforms. You can buy from them to test the glass regularly.

5.   Use Appropriate Methods of Cleaning

You should use an appropriate method for cleaning. The method depends upon the type, size, and shape of the glasses. There are three main methods of cleaning glass.

  • Vertical method
  • Horizontal method
  • Fanning method

The vertical method is mainly used for cleaning tall windows and walls. The horizontal method is applied to the long windows and walls. However, the fanning method is used for both these shapes.
